There’s a point at the end of the year when students begin to look ahead. They’re getting ready to leave a classroom they helped shape.
This lesson gives them a way to reflect on that experience and name what made the classroom feel positive and productive.
Students think about what helped the class run well—how they worked, how they treated each other, and how they handled challenges. Then they turn that thinking into clear, specific advice for next year’s class.
As students share their ideas, they begin to see their role in shaping a classroom. It builds ownership, strengthens community, and helps them notice the habits to use next year.
